Our Story

Terra Tropic is an architect-led sculptural studio founded in 2023 in Miami by Cuban sculptor Osmany Machado and architect Liz Machado.

The studio began after creating a series of custom planters for Liz’s restaurant. The intention was simple: to develop forms that were not available locally, produced in Miami, and shaped with a level of material presence and individuality that mass-produced objects could not offer.

From that initial collaboration, the practice expanded into permanent sculptural work for architectural and landscape settings. Terra Tropic approaches sculpture as a spatial and material discipline, informed by site, scale, and long-term placement rather than decoration or trend.

All works are shaped entirely by hand in TerraStone™, a proprietary material developed by the studio for weight, durability, and architectural integration. Variations in stone, surface, and detail are inherent to the process, ensuring that each sculpture is resolved individually.

As a father-and-daughter studio, Terra Tropic is rooted in shared practice, continuity, and generational dialogue. The work reflects a long-term approach to making — one grounded in craft, architecture, and place.

Terra Tropic works are designed to remain within architecture, landscape, and time.
